Standing With Josh Inglis
Grade: B
Australia went into their second game of this World Cup without Alex Carey, who was the first of multiple Australian drops for the match.
Carey was replaced by Josh Inglis, in a decision that raised plenty of questions, mostly based around the fact that Inglis has not once fallen into a swimming pool while not paying for a haircut to celebrate stumping a dozy opposition wicketkeeper.
If you don’t select him, though, how will he ever learn to do so? But, countering that, it’s also fair to ask if Inglis's fundamental lack of Lord’s-enraging freestyling free styling would mean that he was out of his depth in a big World Cup match?
A fair counterpoint. And, as it turned out, Inglis was out of his depth. He was, however, not alone.
