Australia v West Indies Second ODI Report Card
Featuring replays and cover gaps
Replays
Grade: B-
The second ODI between Australia and the West Indies had a delayed start due to a combination of dreadful Melbourne weather and an urgent need for Fox Cricket to broadcast a replay of the 1999 World Cup semi-final.
When the weather suddenly cleared, however, we were left with Steve Waugh and Michael Bevan stranded a quarter of a century in the past, mid-partnership, as we cut away to a truncated 29 overs per side match.
Despite the return of Hayley Matthews, however, this second ODI followed a similar path to the first, with Alyssa Healy putting the West Indies in to bat and the visitors utterly failing to amass any kind of defensible total.
Disappointing, really, to cut away from one replay to another replay.
