How seriously? They promoted debutant thrill machine Jake Fraser-McGurk to open. That would surely keep eyeballs on the white ball screen and away from the red ball siren song of—.
Oh, wait. He’s out.
But not before a thrilling innings of two plays and misses, one charged drive down the ground for four and an enormous six lofted miles into the crowd.
Five balls, ten runs, one wicket. Brilliant on every level. I’m very confident we’ll see a decade’s worth of such Jake Fraser-McGurk innings.
Or, if not confident, hopeful.
