Pakistan v England Second Test Report Card, Day Three

With India and New Zealand starting a Test while this Pakistan-England one was still going on, the unpleasant risk arose of having to throw on a second screen. Nobody likes that.
This dire outcome had been averted on the first day of the India v New Zealand Test by the simple mechanic of the day being washed out. (Although, that’s obviously unsatisfying in its own, cricketless way.)
On the second day, a more welcome compromise was sought. India would bat first, lose three early wickets, then go off for rain. England would then start the third day, score some annoying tenth wicket runs, then be all out just in time for the innings break to coincide with India’s innings resuming.
India would then be bowled out for 46, while the Pakistan innings got rolling.
Quality back and forth. Lovely to see. Who says these two great nations can’t work together?
